STARS HOLLOW is an emo/screamo band from Ames, Iowa. While these genres are naturally both melancholic and full of rage, this three piece upholds a twinkly, melodic face combined with influences of intricate math rock. "I'm Really Not That Upset About It" was recorded at the Establishment in Des Moines, IA and was engineered, mixed, and mastered by Andrew Ferren. All art and design was done by Alexis Politz.
After the band contacted me about album art, they began with how they were inspired by the cover of Sorority Noise's album Joy, Departed -- created by Cassie Bozicek. Emulating the airy coloring and simple drawing, I drew in pen with washes of watercolor. Tyler Stodghill visioned the image of someone sitting in a tree seconds before the branch broke, later becoming a full image across the front and back of the CD. Released through Hand In There Records.
